My goodness it's been a year since my last post. I guess Facebook has pulled away all of my attention. I will probably need to change the focus of this blog as a true inner dialogue. As of this writing, 27 people, 18 children have been murdered by a troubled person in Connecticut. At this time, the usual battle lines are being drawn. Anti gun control folks say that gun control doesn't help, that guns don't kill people, people do, and the problem is lack of God in our schools. And of course the kind of guns being discussed aren't the kinds of guns used in the atrocity. I'm not sure what the answer is. I suspect the guns have escaped the barn as it were and it's too late anyways.
For the record I think some people are born on a path too far removed from reality that God will touch them. But what do I know.
I leave you with this blog entry from a special-needs mother http://anarchistsoccermom.blogspot.com/2012/12/thinking-unthinkable.html
I wonder how she would respond to those who say her son needed more God, and it's her fault for the way he is.

Post Tax Blues
Well due to some serious miscalculations on taxes I find I'm not in great financial shape, but then again, who is here in Southeast Michigan? At least I have a job which is more than a lot of folks can say. The kids are in great shape. Lost my father-in-law Joe to stupid pulmonary emboli. Looking forward to seeing some greenery.

Long gap
I haven't done any posts in the past few months due to Facebook. I will probably put some more of the indulgent items in here.

A great era in Cleveland sports
Don't know about the future, but right now with Shaquille O'Neal, Antawn Jamison, LeBron James, Delonte West, and Mo Williams is the greatest lineup in the history of Cleveland sports.
My Sony adventures
Our Sony KDS-R60XBR1 has gone yellow on us over the past few months. A Sony rep initially said I was SOL, but another department came through with a nice KDL-55EX500 LCD screen for 225 dollars. All because of the work of one Steve Linke and others who have been putting the hurt on Sony Corp with lawsuits.
Weekend in SoCal
Technically proficient is the way I'd describe my weekend. I had an interesting experiment. I used a Nikon D50 for qualifying. It syncs at 1/500th of a second, allowing for a wider open, and of course shorter exposure for my flash photography.
