Trip to the desert

Well, as many of you know, I shoot Nascar races in the Midwest and West. I am in Phoenix now, typing from Dick Clark's American Bandstand restaurant at Phoenix International Airport, waiting to take the redeye home to Detroit. Weather's been nice. Shot the truck race, Busch race, and Cup race. Nothing too exciting this time around. Nascar driver Tony Stewart acknowledged my presence for the first time in a positive manor on Saturday. He said "How's it going, hero?" Or did he mean "Hiro" from the NBC show Heroes. It's my last race of the year and I'm glad to be headed home. Stayed at the Embassy Suites in Scottsdale with my good buddy Mike Laczynski. We had dinner Saturday night courtesy of Caterpillar racing. Had a fabulous time, but one margarita too many.
