Well I can't say I'm entirely surprised by the BCS final rankings. Nor am I disappointed that we're going to the Rose Bowl, though I am annoyed at some of the obvious gaming that occurred in the voting process. Some voters had dropped Michigan to 4th and even 5th! as they were trying to assure that Florida would make the second spot. Another guy put Florida at 1st. First the computers were blamed when Auburn and USC were left out a few years ago, and rightfully so. And now the humans have voted who they want to see in the Championship game, not who should be there. Should there be a playoff? Will that render the regular season less magical, less suspenseful? After all, the NFL has a clear cut playoff system, but it has less appeal to me, overall.
Anyways, my Rose Bowl tickets are ordered, and with any luck I'll get'em and head there from Vegas in the morning of Jan. 1.
