In the late 70's, early 80's, before we had 100's of cable channels, our local PBS channel 25 WVIZ in Cleveland ran a little-known (in the U.S.) BBC TV sci-fi series, Doctor Who, starring Tom Baker. Well that was pretty nifty stuff, high-concept, low-budget Sci-Fi at it's best. I followed the series through the next incarnation of the Doctor starring Peter Davison, then lost interest in the 90's, as did, apparently the rest of the world. Well I'm here to say that Doctor Who is again, dollar-for-dollar the best Sci-Fi on TV, and has reached it's all-time height in the two episodes "The Silence in the Library" and "Forests of the Dead" which aired in the U.K. a few weeks ago and now in the U.S. This series is one of my favorite Sci-Fi series along with Battlestar Galactica and past series Farscape, Serenity/Firefly.
