Styx and Boston
Saw both groups at the Thomas & Mack Center. Styx was pretty good. Boston, too, though I thought that celebrity dad Tommy DeCarlo was a better singing "fit" than the other lead singer Michael Sweet of Stryper. Maybe they were trying to save Tommy's voice during this 30 show season. I understand from people who have seen Boston in their heyday that they were no great show band. I guess Brad Delp was somewhat introverted, and Tom Scholz, although an awesome, pioneering guitarist, was not, and is not a wild Eddie Van Halen type.
