When I was in high school in 1983, I was utterly blown away by the seniors in the Pop Ensemble doing a Manhattan Transfer song "Operator". I believe it was Dawn Duda, older sister of my good buddy Derek on lead vocal. Well this nerd just fell in love with the performance arts, and I eventually ended up in the Pop Ensemble in 1985-86, and it was just a fantastic chapter in my life. It seems about half the songs we did were by the Manhattan Transfer and I finally was able to see them in concert here in Ann Arbor. A really great, fun show.
